In transitioning from 'Dry' January to 'Festive' February, we're having cocktails with Mom, Educator and Fairfield Country Mom Collective Contributor Elisabeth Pavlofsky on her approach to cocktails and Super Bowl entertaining.
Great to meet you! Please tell us a little bit about yourself.
Great to meet you too! I live in Connecticut with my husband, three daughters and one (very new) puppy. Professionally, I'm a pre-school educator and Sponsorship Coordinator and Contributor to Fairfield County Mom Collective. Personally, I love to bake and cook, go to the beach with my family, jam out to country music and drink cocktails with friends!
Cocktails?!?! Now you're speaking our language! February is surprisingly festive. What's going to be in your cocktail glass this month?
I love Margaritas - the spicier, the better! I use 2 parts RIPE Bar Juice Agave Margarita and 1 part 21 Seeds Cucumber Jalapeño Tequila. This recipe is a regular part of our family's homemade Taco Tuesday, which happens to fall on Valentine's Day this year. For the kids, I'll muddle strawberries with RIPE Margarita to make pink mocktails for the occasion. Margs for the adults and mocktails for the kids!
But I also love a great Cosmopolitan. I use 2 parts RIPE Bar Juice Classic Cosmopolitan plus 1 part vodka with a garnish of floating cranberries. I'll be making these pretty cosmos for Galentine's Day for my best gal pals.
We mustn't forget what is probably one of America's biggest holidays in February - The Super Bowl. Any entertaining tips?
The Super Bowl is huge in our neighborhood! You don't have to be at the actual Super Bowl to enjoy the game; all you need is good food, great friends, TV (or 3!) and, if you're lucky, a home bar fashioned out of the garage! Because I want to enjoy game day as well and not be in the kitchen all day, I set up self-serve crowd pleasers like charcuterie boards and meatballs, as well as batched cocktails, like Bloody Marys with RIPE Bar Juice (2 parts) and vodka (1 part) along with a variety of fun garnishes for guests to customize their drink.
Lastly, what are you RIPE for in 2023?
I'm looking forward to enjoying more time celebrating big life moments with family and friends...with a cocktail in my hand, of course!
